
Course Description:
This set of 14 lessons is required by the Coast Guard for personnel who have specific security duties. They may work for the port or a private security firm. It is also a valuable course for sworn law enforcement officers who maintain a port presence. The course builds on their basic training by describing in detail how policing at ports is different from policing in other settings. All security personnel learn the skills necessary for protecting people and property in the unique maritime environment.
The Security Officer course takes 7-8 hours to complete.
